The Karaja Indians
The Karaja belong to the non-classified linguistic group of the Marco-Je who are divided into the Karaja, the Javae and the Xambioa. The Araguaia Reservation is 4000 acres, inhabited by 2900 indians. Kara¡á villages: Santa Isabel do Morro, Fontoura, Tutemã; Javaé villages: Txuiri, Gantanã, Boto Velho, Wari Wari, São João, Cachoeirinha, Manalué , Barreira Branca, Imonti; Xambioá villages: Xambioá and Kurerê.
